Policy for International Candidates:

Candidates from countries other than the United States or Canada are eligible for the Advanced Training Council Fellowship in Head and Neck Surgery and may receive a certificate upon the successful completion of a one-year or two-year training program. Applicants from other countries must have completed a course of training in their country that is comparable to the requirements established for the United States and Canada. Applicants from these other countries may not be eligible for the match; however, applicants from countries other than the United States and Canada may apply individually to programs at any time (either before or after the match). These applications should be sent directly to the individual Program Directors. The applicants may want to communicate with as many programs as he/she feels is appropriate. It is important for the Program Director to inform the Advanced Training Council (secretary and chairman) regarding the admission of the international candidates, so that a file may be maintained and credentials rechecked so that the candidate may receive the certificate at the end of his/her training.

Applicants Outside the Match:

Since your training has been outside the U.S., you may not be eligible to participate in the Advanced Training Council fellowship match, which requires American Board of Surgery, Plastic Surgery or Otolaryngology eligibility. You may, however, contact Program Directors individually for information regarding a fellowship at their institution. International fellowships will be awarded by institutions, with successful candidates receiving a certificate from the Advanced Training Council upon graduation from an approved fellowship program.

Please contact the Program Director with your application request. The Secretary of the Advanced Training Council will not be responsible for disseminating your application or arranging any correspondence on your behalf.
